Hans Kissle LLC has announced a voluntary recall of 120 units of its Red Potato Bliss Salad after discovering that the product contains undeclared wheat, which is a known allergen. The affected items were distributed to Stop and Shop stores in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. The company warns that individuals with a wheat allergy or sensitivity could face serious health risks if they consume the mislabeled salad.
The recalled salad is packaged in a 16-ounce clear plastic container with a white lid. It can be identified by UPC Code 036217673706 and use-by dates of August 20, 2025, and September 25, 2025. Although the front label correctly identifies the product as Tricolor Twist Pasta Salad—which contains wheat—the top label incorrectly names it as Red Bliss Potato Salad, which does not declare wheat as an ingredient.
Hans Kissle stated: "The recall was initiated after it was discovered that 120 containers of Tricolor Twist Pasta Salad were mislabeled with the incorrect top label. While the front label correctly identifies the product, the top label misrepresents it as Red Bliss Potato Salad. The actual product contains wheat, which is not declared on the top label."
So far, there have been no reported illnesses or adverse reactions related to this labeling issue.
Consumers who have purchased these products are advised to return them to their place of purchase for a full refund. Those seeking additional information may contact Hans Kissle at 978-556-4500 during regular business hours.
