A Coal City resident, Jeremy Dale Shuck, 47, has pleaded guilty to a federal drug charge involving the distribution of methamphetamine. According to information presented in court, Shuck admitted to selling approximately 13.92 grams of methamphetamine for $200 to a confidential informant on July 16, 2024. The transaction took place at a service station parking lot in Beaver.
Shuck’s sentencing is set for January 23, 2026. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and could receive up to 40 years in prison. Additional penalties include at least four years of supervised release and a fine that may reach $5 million.

The hearing was overseen by United States Magistrate Judge Omar J. Aboulhosn. Assistant United States Attorney Brian D. Parsons and former Assistant United States Attorney Andrew D. Isabell prosecuted the case.
This prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America, which brings together resources from several Department of Justice initiatives such as the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) and Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) to combat illegal immigration, disrupt criminal organizations, and address violent crime nationwide.
