St. Louis County man receives 15-year sentence for arranging sale of illegal drugs

A St. Louis County man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in arranging drug sales involving methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine. U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey handed down the sentence on Tuesday to Jerry Massey, 33, who had pleaded guilty in April to several charges including conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute meth and fentanyl, five counts of distribution of meth and fentanyl, one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and one count of distribution of meth and heroin.

The Drug Enforcement Administration began its investigation into Massey in January 2022. Over the course of the investigation, agents made a series of drug purchases arranged by Massey in locations across St. Louis, St. Louis County, and Illinois. These included transactions involving meth and fentanyl on multiple dates between January and March 2024. On February 14, agents purchased fentanyl and cocaine from Massey.

On March 27, investigators executed a court-approved search at Massey's home where they found a large amount of cash along with 29 pills containing fentanyl, according to his plea agreement.

Other individuals involved in the case have also pleaded guilty to related charges. Darrion Dardon, 32; Darius Smith, 31; Ronald Finney, 32; and Michael Davis, 34 all admitted roles in distributing various drugs or possessing firearms as felons. In their plea agreements: "Davis admitted selling meth and fentanyl on January 18. Smith gave Massey the meth that he sold on January 24. Dardon sold meth and a mixture of heroin, cocaine and xylazine on February 29. Finney sold meth and Davis sold fentanyl during the March 14 transactions."

Searches at the homes of Finney and Davis uncovered more drugs including fentanyl, cocaine base, methamphetamine as well as firearms and drug paraphernalia.

Finney and Davis are awaiting sentencing while Dardon was sentenced to seven years (84 months) in prison and Smith received an eight-year (96 months) sentence.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration along with the St. Louis County Police Department. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin Granger.
