White House submits new slate of nominees and withdrawals to Senate

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

The White House has announced a new set of nominations sent to the Senate for consideration. The list includes individuals selected for various key positions in federal departments and agencies.

Erwin Antoni, from Pennsylvania, has been nominated to serve as Commissioner of Labor Statistics at the Department of Labor for a four-year term, replacing Erika L. McEntarfer. Laura DiBella, from Florida, is nominated as Federal Maritime Commissioner for a term ending June 30, 2028, succeeding L. E. Sola whose term expired.

Other nominations include Steven Haines of Virginia for Assistant Secretary of Commerce, replacing Grant T. Harris who resigned; Robert Harvey of Florida as Federal Maritime Commissioner until June 30, 2029, succeeding Carl Whitney Bentzel; and George Holding of North Carolina as United States Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, taking over from J. Steven Dowd.

Sriprakash Kothari from Massachusetts is nominated to be an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in place of Benjamin Harris who resigned. Ryan McCormack from Virginia is put forward for Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy, succeeding Carlos Alberto Monje Jr.

Peter Metzger from the District of Columbia has been named to be Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis at the Department of the Treasury following Shannon Corless’s resignation. Brian David Miller from Pennsylvania is nominated to serve as United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania for four years, replacing Gerard M. Karam.

Trent Morse from Florida is up for membership on the Board of Directors at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority through May 30, 2030, succeeding Sean Burton whose term expired.

Joshua Simmons from Virginia is being considered as General Counsel at the Central Intelligence Agency after Kate Elizabeth Heinzelman’s resignation. Christopher Yeaw from Virginia has been nominated as Assistant Secretary of State (Arms Control, Nonproliferation, and Stability), replacing Mallory A. Stewart who resigned.

Additionally, several previous nominations have been withdrawn by The White House:

Terrence Gorman’s nomination to chair the Board of Veterans’ Appeals was withdrawn; his nomination was originally sent on August 1, 2025. Penny Schwinn’s nomination as Deputy Secretary of Education was also withdrawn after having been submitted on January 22, 2025. Christopher Gilbert’s nomination to serve as United States Attorney for the Western District of Virginia was withdrawn after being sent on June 30, 2025.
