A Louisville man has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for methamphetamine distribution, following an open plea to multiple charges related to drug trafficking.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky, Antonio O’Neal, 40, admitted guilt on May 21, 2025, to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and five counts of distribution. The offenses took place between January 1, 2021, and August 16, 2023. Authorities said that O’Neal was held responsible for distributing a total of 960 grams of methamphetamine purchased during law enforcement-controlled transactions.
U.S. District Court imposed a sentence of 14 years in prison with an additional five years of supervised release. Federal sentencing guidelines do not permit parole.
The case was investigated by the FBI Louisville Field Office and the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD). Assistant United States Attorneys Joshua Porter and Frank Dahl III prosecuted the case with paralegal support from Adela Alic.
U.S. Attorney Kyle G. Bumgarner stated, “This conviction is a part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime. Operation Take Back America streamlines efforts and resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).”
