The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released the names and criminal records of 51 individuals described as some of the most dangerous criminal illegal aliens currently held at the Louisiana State Penitentiary, also known as Angola Prison. This move is part of a partnership with the state of Louisiana that enables U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to expand its detention capacity by up to 416 beds.

According to DHS, those detained include 26 individuals convicted of murder, eight convicted of rape, eight convicted of sexual exploitation of a minor, and nine convicted of sexual assault against a minor.

A DHS spokesperson stated: “Murderers, pedophiles, rapists, and child predators. These are the barbaric criminal illegal aliens arrested by ICE and being held at Louisiana Lockup. If you are in America illegally, you could find yourself in CECOT, Cornhusker Clink, Speedway Slammer, or Louisiana Lockup. Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S.”

The list provided by DHS includes individuals from various countries such as Iraq, China, Sudan, Cuba, Venezuela, Russia, Vietnam, Iran, Somalia, Ethiopia, Haiti, Hong Kong (China), El Salvador, Burma (Myanmar), India, Argentina, Laos and Belarus. The crimes for which these individuals were convicted range from murder and rape to sexual offenses involving minors.

This initiative reflects ongoing efforts by federal authorities to address concerns about violent crime committed by non-citizens who have been found guilty in U.S. courts.
