Two men plead guilty to kidnapping toddler during dispute over missing guns

Two men have pleaded guilty to kidnapping a two-year-old child in St. Louis County, Missouri, as part of an effort to recover missing firearms.

Kendal “KD” White, 20, of St. Charles, entered his plea on Monday in U.S. District Court in St. Louis. Cam’Ron Henderson, 20, of St. Louis, pleaded guilty to the same charge on August 11.

According to court documents and the plea agreement, White believed the father of the child had taken firearms and other belongings from him. On August 10, 2023, White and Henderson began searching for this individual and eventually arrived at the child’s mother’s apartment in St. Louis County. After their knocks went unanswered, both men forced entry into the apartment while armed.

Upon discovering that the man they sought was not present, White demanded that the mother hand over her daughter. When she refused, "White struck her in the head with his gun multiple times before grabbing the toddler from her arms." Both men then left with the child as the victim’s mother called police.

After learning that authorities had issued an Amber Alert including a description of their Hyundai Elantra, "White paid three women to return the toddler to her uncle’s home."

The federal kidnapping charge carries a minimum penalty of 20 years in prison. Sentencing for Henderson is set for December 2; White will be sentenced on January 27.

The case was investigated by the St. Louis County Police Department and the FBI. "Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Szczucinski is prosecuting the case."
