Leah B. Foley United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts | Department of Justice
A Northampton man has pleaded guilty in federal court to firearm and narcotics charges. Gabriel Lebron, 35, entered his plea before U.S. District Court Judge Mark G. Mastroianni in Springfield. Sentencing is scheduled for January 15, 2025.
Lebron admitted to one count each of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base and heroin. According to authorities, on April 9, 2025, police responded to a 911 call at the Howard Johnson hotel lobby in Hadley about a man brandishing a firearm. Officers found Lebron with a loaded Jimenez Arms .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol, ten “snap caps” of crack cocaine, and two bundles of heroin. He was taken into custody at the scene.
At the time of this incident, Lebron was on federal supervised release following a Vermont conviction for possessing a loaded ghost gun with a laser sight and multiple rounds of ammunition. In that case, he received a sentence of 27 months in prison and three years of supervised release in 2023.
The charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition carries up to 15 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. The drug charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of three years and up to 20 years in prison, up to five years supervised release, and up to $1 million in fines. Sentences are determined by the judge based on federal guidelines.
