Leah B. Foley United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts | Department of Justice
A Lynn, Massachusetts man identified as a member of the Bloods gang has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for possessing a loaded machinegun. Delvyn Liriano, 19, received his sentence from U.S. District Court Judge Richard G. Stearns and will also serve two years of supervised release following his prison term.
Liriano pleaded guilty in May 2025 to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. He was indicted earlier in March 2025.
Court records indicate that Liriano traveled into rival gang territory in late December 2024 to confront other gang members while armed with a firearm. At the time, he was on state probation after being convicted in 2023 for pointing a firearm at his former girlfriend and threatening her life because he believed she had associated with someone from a rival gang.
On January 3, 2025, law enforcement observed Liriano leaving his Everett residence carrying a black backpack before entering a vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle due to revoked registration stemming from lack of insurance. During the stop, police found that Liriano’s backpack contained a loaded Glock Model 27 fitted with a selector switch—a device that converts semi-automatic firearms into fully automatic weapons—classifying it as a machinegun under federal law. Liriano was arrested at the scene. Authorities later searched his cell phones and discovered photos showing him holding other firearms.
