One Frozen, LLC has announced a voluntary recall of certain lots of its Good & Gather Southwest-Style Burrito Bowl Blend (frozen, 12oz bags) after it was discovered that the product may contain shrimp, a crustacean shellfish allergen not listed on the ingredient label. The company stated that individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to shellfish could face serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.
The affected products were distributed through Target stores nationwide in all 50 states. Distribution began on April 17, 2025. The recall involves bags with UPC code 085239931356 and lot codes L5055-1 through L5055-6, which can be found under the Nutrition Label on the back of the packaging. These products have a "Best if Used by" date of August 24, 2026. A total of 57,240 consumer units are included in the recall.
The decision to initiate the recall followed three consumer complaints reporting possible shrimp contamination in these burrito bowls. As of September 10, 2025, no illnesses have been reported related to this issue.
"This recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)."
Consumers who have purchased the recalled Good & Gather Southwest-Style Burrito Bowl Blend are advised to check their freezers for any affected packages and not to consume them. They can contact Target Guest Relations at (800) 444-0680 for a full refund.
This action is part of ongoing efforts by food producers and retailers to address undeclared allergens in packaged foods and protect consumers from potential health risks associated with such exposures.
