A Dominican national living unlawfully in Lawrence, Massachusetts, was sentenced in federal court for illegally reentering the United States after being deported. Santo Beato Aybar-Aybar, 49, received a sentence of time served, amounting to five months, from U.S. District Court Judge Brian E. Murphy. Following the sentencing, Aybar-Aybar is now subject to deportation proceedings.
Aybar-Aybar pleaded guilty in June 2025 to one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien after being indicted in April 2025. He had previously been deported from the United States three times, most recently on or about September 21, 2021. Authorities reported that he reentered the country without permission after his last removal.
While residing unlawfully in the United States, Aybar-Aybar was convicted of several crimes. These include a 2013 conviction in New Hampshire for possessing cocaine with intent to distribute and a 2021 conviction in Massachusetts for possessing fentanyl with intent to distribute. Immigration authorities located him during a law enforcement operation in Lawrence.
