Federal law enforcement agencies, in coordination with local and state authorities, executed search warrants at multiple locations across the Des Moines metropolitan area on September 11, 2025. The addresses included sites in Ankeny, Des Moines, Carlisle, and surrounding communities.
The operation involved personnel from a wide range of agencies. These included the Des Moines Police Department; FBI Des Moines Resident Agency of the Omaha Field Office; Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force (MINE) and MINE East; Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force; Metro Special Tactics and Response (STAR); FBI Omaha Field Office; Iowa Division of Intelligence and Fusion Center; Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement (DNE); Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF); Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA); FBI Omaha SWAT; FBI Kansas City SWAT; Iowa State Patrol and its SWAT unit; several county sheriff’s offices including Polk, Jasper, Marion, Dallas, Story, and Marshall counties; as well as police departments from Clive, West Des Moines, Altoona, Carlisle, Knoxville, Ankeny, Urbandale, Windsor Heights, Newton, Pleasant Hill; Suburban Emergency Response Team (SERT); and Cedar Rapids Police Department.
Authorities confirmed that these searches were part of an official law enforcement action but did not release further details regarding the nature or outcome of the operation.
