Nicholis Dorsey, a 33-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was found guilty by a Superior Court jury on charges of misdemeanor sexual assault with felony enhancement. The conviction relates to the sexual abuse of five female passengers at metro transit stations, as announced by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.
Dorsey was convicted on six counts of misdemeanor sexual abuse, each carrying a felony enhancement and aggravating circumstances. He had previously been convicted for sexually assaulting three other women. All eight victims were strangers to him. Sentencing is scheduled for November 14, 2025, before Judge Michael Ryan.
Evidence presented at trial showed that between January and March 2025, Dorsey approached five women at various metro stations and assaulted them by touching their buttocks or inner thigh. After each incident, he would stare at the victims or laugh before leaving the scene. Detectives from the Metro Transit Police Department used surveillance footage to create be on the lookout (BOLO) flyers featuring images of Dorsey.
Special Police Officers and Metro Transit Police arrested Dorsey on March 5, 2025, soon after the last reported assault. During a custodial interview that day, he confirmed his identity after being shown two BOLO flyers related to ongoing investigations.
The investigation also revealed that Dorsey had three prior convictions for misdemeanor sexual abuse, making him eligible for a felony enhancement under existing law.
Chief Michael Anzallo of the Metro Transit Police Department joined in announcing the verdict. U.S. Attorney Pirro and Chief Anzallo acknowledged the work done by investigators from the Metro Transit Police Department and staff from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. They specifically recognized Victim Advocate Veronica Vaughan for her support and coordination efforts with all five victims.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Samantha Soter and LaVater Massie-Banks prosecuted the case.
