Secretary of State Marco Rubio held talks in Doha with Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. According to Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott, Secretary Rubio reaffirmed the strength of the relationship between the United States and Qatar. He also expressed gratitude for Qatar’s role in seeking an end to the war in Gaza and efforts to secure the release of hostages.
During the meeting, Secretary Rubio emphasized America’s support for Qatar’s security and sovereignty. The discussions included a focus on both countries’ commitment to promoting stability and safety in the region.
