Former correctional officer sentenced to prison for sexual act with inmate

A former correctional officer at the Federal Correctional Complex in Yazoo City, Mississippi, was sentenced to 15 months in prison for engaging in sexual acts with a federal prisoner. The sentencing took place following an investigation by the Department of Justice, Office of the Inspector General.

In January 2025, agents from the Department of Justice, Office of the Inspector General discovered that Parker M. Triplett, age 25, had engaged in sexual acts with an inmate. A federal grand jury indicted Triplett on April 8, 2025.

Triplett pleaded guilty on June 25, 2025. After entering his plea, he was taken into custody by the United States Marshal Service.
