Missouri man sentenced for transporting minor across state lines for prostitution

A Missouri man has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for transporting a minor across state lines for prostitution. U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Clark handed down the 152-month sentence to JoeMarius Green, 25, on Friday. After his release from prison, Green will be subject to supervised release for life.

Green pleaded guilty in January to one felony count of transporting a minor across state lines to engage in prostitution. According to court documents, he took the minor from Dallas to Kansas City on February 12, 2023, during the Super Bowl weekend for purposes of prostitution. After about four days, Green transported the victim and others to a hotel in the St. Louis area for similar activities.

Prosecutors said Green managed online advertisements for prostitution, rented hotel rooms, set prices for sex acts, and collected all cash proceeds from the victim’s commercial sex acts.

Chantel Robinson, 21, was also charged in connection with the case. She was sentenced in July to 41 months in prison after pleading guilty to one felony count of possession of child pornography. Robinson admitted that she engaged in commercial sex acts herself and took sexually explicit photos of minors which she posted online. She also oversaw prostitution activities involving minors when Green was not present.

The investigation was conducted by the St. Louis County Police Department and the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dianna Edwards prosecuted the case.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating federal, state, and local resources to locate offenders and rescue victims.
