The Republic of Korea Ministry of National Defense and the U.S. Department of War convened the 27th Korea-U.S. Integrated Defense Dialogue in Seoul from September 23 to 24, 2025.
Major General Yoon Bong hee, Acting Deputy Minister for National Defense Policy, led the South Korean delegation. The U.S. delegation was headed by John Noh, Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for East Asia. Senior defense and foreign affairs officials from both countries also attended.
According to a joint statement, the two sides reviewed their overall defense cooperation with a focus on modernizing the alliance to address evolving regional security challenges. They held detailed discussions on alliance matters and agreed to pursue further cooperation based on outcomes from the ROK-U.S. Summit held in August.
"The two sides assessed that this meeting laid the foundation for enhancing bilateral understanding on Alliance issues, deepening and strengthening the Alliance, and pledged to further cooperation going forward," stated officials.
