A Bucks County resident, Richard Adamsky, 66, of Warminster, Pennsylvania, has been arrested and charged by indictment with one count of receipt and attempted receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. The announcement was made by United States Attorney David Metcalf.
Adamsky is scheduled to make his initial appearance in federal court tomorrow.
According to the indictment, on or about June 15, 2024, Adamsky knowingly received a visual depiction involving a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The indictment also alleges that he possessed two computers and two flash drives containing images of minors involved in sexually explicit acts. These depictions included prepubescent minors and children under the age of 12.
If found guilty, Adamsky could face up to 40 years in prison, with a mandatory minimum sentence of five years.
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. Project Safe Childhood brings together federal, state, and local resources to locate and prosecute those who exploit children online as well as identify victims. More information about this initiative can be found at https://www.projectsafec hildhood.gov/.
The investigation was conducted by FBI Philadelphia’s Fort Washington Resident Agency along with the Warminster Township Police Department, Upper Merion Township Police Department, and Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Maureen McCartney is prosecuting the case.
United States Attorney David Metcalf stated: "The charges and allegations contained in the indictment are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty in court."
