Demers Food Group has announced a voluntary recall of select Scott & Jon's Shrimp Scampi with Linguini bowls after an ingredient supplied by Nate’s Fine Foods was recalled due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The affected product contains linguini pasta from Nate’s Fine Foods, which initiated its own recall for the same contamination risk.
The recall is limited to specific batches of Scott & Jon's Shrimp Scampi with Linguini and does not affect other products under the Scott & Jon’s brand. The product was distributed nationwide through wholesale distributors and operators between September 15 and September 25, 2025.
No illnesses related to this recall have been reported so far. Demers Food Group advises consumers who have purchased the recalled items not to consume them and instead dispose of the products or return them to their local store for a full refund.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends that anyone who purchased or received any recalled products take extra care in cleaning and sanitizing surfaces and containers that may have come into contact with these items, as Listeria monocytogenes can survive in refrigerated environments and spread easily to other foods and surfaces.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious infections, particularly among young children, elderly individuals, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms in healthy people are usually short-term but can include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Infections during pregnancy can lead to miscarriages or stillbirths.
Consumers seeking more information about the recall can contact Demers Food Group’s Customer Service at 1-800-239-9731 from Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. EST.
