U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, who chairs the Senate Small Business Committee, has named Staats Awards of Henry County as her Small Business of the Week. This recognition is part of Ernst’s ongoing effort during the 119th Congress to highlight a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
“For over 100 years, Staats Awards has been helping Iowans and communities nationwide celebrate achievement, truly taking top honors as a leader in the awards and recognition industry,” said Chair Ernst. “From ribbons and rosettes to trophies and plaques, Staats deserves a standing ovation as one of the most respected names in their field.”
Staats Awards was founded in 1898 by E.G. Staats and is currently owned by the Patten and Webster families. The company produces various recognition awards and promotional materials for fairs, livestock shows, organizations, and businesses. Its products are commonly seen at the Iowa State Fair, festivals, livestock and horse shows, agribusinesses, schools, corporations, and community events across the country.
The company operates with more than 20 employees under the motto “Small Town Values, World Class Quality.” According to information provided by Ernst’s office, Staats Awards combines Midwestern values with its range of products designed to recognize achievement and promote organizational missions.
Chair Ernst will continue this initiative by recognizing additional small businesses throughout Iowa during this session of Congress.
