Sprouts Farmers Market, based in Phoenix, Arizona, has announced a recall of select lots of its Smoked Mozzarella Pasta Salad due to concerns about possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The product was available for purchase from the deli service counter or Grab & Go section at Sprouts stores in multiple states between August 31 and October 7, 2025.
The recall was initiated after Fresh Creative Foods, a supplier to Sprouts, alerted the company about potential Listeria contamination in the pasta used in the salad. The pasta ingredient was manufactured by Nate’s Fine Foods of Roseville, California. No illnesses have been reported so far.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious infections in young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems. While healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever and gastrointestinal distress, infection can also lead to miscarriages or stillbirths among pregnant women. Customers who are concerned about their health should contact a healthcare provider.
The affected product was distributed to Sprouts locations across 24 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.
The recalled salads were sold either as pre-packaged containers (UPC 2-15786-00000) or packed directly from the deli service counter (UPC 2-15587-00000), both with use-by dates ranging from October 10 to October 29.
Customers who purchased these products are advised not to consume them and should dispose of them or return them to their local store for a full refund. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends thorough cleaning and sanitizing of any surfaces or containers that may have come into contact with the recalled items to prevent cross-contamination.
