The United States Senate has confirmed Jonathan McKernan as Under Secretary for Domestic Finance at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The National Association of REALTORS (NAR) responded to the news with a statement from Shannon McGahn, Executive Vice President and Chief Advocacy Officer.

"We applaud the Senate for confirming Jonathan McKernan as Under Secretary of the U.S. Treasury. Mr. McKernan brings deep institutional knowledge and proven leadership from his prior service in the Senate, at Federal Housing Finance Agency and Treasury, and most recently on the board of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. His experience navigating federal housing policy and advancing bank and financing reforms positions him to help lead Treasury's efforts to address the housing shortage and ongoing reform of the housing finance system.

"We look forward to working with Under Secretary McKernan to promote practical, forward-looking solutions that address affordability in the housing stock as well as access to affordable and stable housing finance for all Americans."
