Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) have issued statements regarding Special Counsel Jack Smith and the Biden-Harris Justice Department.
Rep. Mike Kelly stated, "Surveilling private communications of Members of Congress for political purposes is a clear abuse of power. This further proves what we've known all along: the Biden Justice Department was weaponized against its political opponents."
Chairman Jordan added, "Jack Smith tampered with evidence, surveilled sitting Members of Congress, and waged unprecedented lawfare against President Trump. The American people are ready for the truth about the weaponized Biden-Harris Administration."
Recent media coverage has focused on these concerns. Fox News reported that Jordan is demanding Jack Smith testify about prosecutions related to former President Trump (https://www.foxnews.com). The New York Post highlighted that the House Judiciary Committee is seeking an explanation from Smith over allegedly partisan investigations (https://nypost.com). Axios noted the committee's accusations of abusive surveillance in their request for Smith's testimony (https://www.axios.com). ABC News covered Chairman Jordan’s call for Jack Smith to appear before Congress regarding his investigative actions (https://abcnews.go.com).
A letter to former Special Counsel Jack Smith has also been made available by the committee.
