Senate Commerce Committee to hold nomination hearing for maritime and commerce agency positions

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, has scheduled a nomination hearing for several key positions in maritime and commerce agencies. The hearing will take place at 10:30 AM EST on October 22, 2025, in the Committee Hearing Room, Russell 253.

The committee will consider the nominations of Stephen Carmel of Virginia as Administrator of the Maritime Administration; Laura DiBella of Florida and Robert Harvey of Florida as Federal Maritime Commissioners; and Timothy Petty of Indiana as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere (NOAA).

The hearing will be available to the public via livestream on the Committee's website or YouTube channel.
