The message also recognized the resilience and achievements of Iraqi citizens over the years. "On this important occasion, we celebrate the resilience and achievements of the Iraqi people and reaffirm our commitment to supporting Iraq in its pursuit of a sovereign, secure, and prosperous future through a U.S.-Iraq partnership that delivers tangible benefits for Americans and Iraqis. We extend our best wishes to all who commemorate Iraq’s independence."
