Publix has issued a voluntary recall of one lot of its Rich & Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream due to the presence of an undeclared egg allergen. The recalled product, which is identified by UPC 41415 03043 and a sell-by date of “June 19, 2026 A,” was distributed in stores across Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida—excluding Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Tampa, and Sarasota. Publix stores in Virginia and North Carolina are not affected.

The company explained that some containers labeled as Rich & Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream may actually contain French Vanilla Ice Cream with a mismatched French Vanilla container lid. This could pose a risk for individuals with egg allergies or sensitivities.

“As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted product has been removed from all store shelves,” said Publix Director of Communications Maria Brous. “To date, there have been no reported cases of illness. Consumers who have purchased the product in question may return the product to their local store for a full refund. Publix customers with additional questions may call our customer care department toll-free at 1-800-242-1227 or visit our website at publix.com.”

Publix operates over 1,400 stores across several southeastern states and is recognized as the largest employee-owned company in the United States.
