Today, the America First Policy Institute released a statement from Brett Tolman, Chair of Law and Justice, addressing the current government shutdown. Tolman criticized Congress for prioritizing healthcare for undocumented immigrants over the pay of National Guard members.
"As radicals in Congress keep the government shutdown, the brave men and women of the National Guard are being unjustly denied immediate pay," said Tolman. He emphasized that these service members are crucial in maintaining public safety in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and Memphis. Their efforts have reportedly led to a reduction in violent crime in these cities.
Tolman argued that Congress is "holding the government hostage" to advocate for taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens instead of compensating those who protect Americans. He called on Washington to prioritize those defending the nation and urged an end to the shutdown.
The America First Policy Institute is urging respect for Guardsmen who prioritize American safety and security.
