President Donald J. Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae met in Tokyo on October 28, 2025, to discuss the progress of a recent agreement between the United States and Japan. The leaders referred to the Agreement signed on July 22, 2025, Executive Order 14345, a Joint Statement on the Agreement, and a Memorandum of Understanding regarding strategic investments announced on September 4, 2025.

Both Trump and Takaichi expressed satisfaction with how quickly both countries have worked together since these announcements. They stated that the Agreement aims to strengthen economic security and encourage economic growth for both nations, which they believe will contribute to global prosperity.

The two leaders directed their ministers and secretaries to continue taking steps towards what they called a "NEW GOLDEN AGE" for the U.S.-Japan Alliance.

"The Agreement will help both countries to strengthen economic security, promote economic growth, and thereby continuously lead to global prosperity," the joint statement said.

The document was signed by President Donald J. Trump for the United States and Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae for Japan in Tokyo on October 28, 2025.
