U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported the arrest of two individuals wanted for murder in separate incidents in Texas and Georgia on October 22.

In Texas, ICE detained William Machado, a Honduran national who had been sought by law enforcement since 2022 for murder. After his arrest, Machado admitted to the killing that took place in 2022.

In Georgia, ICE apprehended Salvador Rodriguez-Mendoza, a Mexican national with an active warrant for murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon from the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office. According to ICE, Rodriguez-Mendoza has prior offenses including multiple drunk driving charges, drug possession, driving without a license, and driving on a suspended license. He was previously deported in both 2000 and 2018 but re-entered the United States illegally at an unknown time and location.

“These two criminal illegal alien MURDERERS will now face justice thanks to the brave men and women of ICE law enforcement. Machado and Rodriguez-Mendoza have zero regard for human life, and we have NO PLACE for animals like them in our country,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “These are the exact type of heinous criminals ICE is arresting and removing from American communities every single day. 70% of ICE arrests have been charged or convicted of crimes in the U.S. Thanks to President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, these two dangerous criminals are no longer a threat to Americans.”

ICE stated that it has placed detainers on both individuals while their criminal proceedings continue.

According to ICE data, about 70% of its arrests involve noncitizens who have been charged with or convicted of crimes in the United States.
