Moonlight Companies has announced a voluntary recall of its California-grown conventional yellow and white peaches due to the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The recall affects peaches sold at retail stores across the United States between September 16, 2025, and October 29, 2025. The affected fruit was available as individual pieces with PLU stickers or in multi-packs. Packages or PLU stickers labeled “Washington” and/or “Organic” are not included in this recall.
The company stated that "they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women."
The products covered by the recall include Moonlight Yellow Peaches and Moonlight White Peaches (including “Peppermint Peach”), both sold individually or in multi-packs under various UPC codes and lot numbers. Kroger Yellow Peaches in multi-packs are also included.
According to Moonlight Companies, "This recall is being conducted because Listeria monocytogenes was identified in the packing facility environment." So far, there have been no reported illnesses linked to these products.
