Supreme Produce LLC has announced a voluntary recall of its Moonlight peaches due to concerns over possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall was initiated by the company’s supplier, Moonlight Companies, after determining that certain white and yellow flesh peaches could be contaminated.
The affected products were distributed under the Supreme Produce brand in Kroger retail stores across several states, including Illinois, Colorado, Georgia, Washington, Indiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oregon, and Michigan. The recalled items are packaged in clear-plastic grab-and-go containers labeled as “Peach Salsa,” with a barcode UPC of 85006540364 and best-by dates ranging from October 12 to October 29, 2025.
According to the announcement: "The product is being recalled due to peaches purchased from our retailer have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or older adults, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women."
Moonlight Companies discovered the potential contamination during their own review process and began a voluntary recall for yellow and white flesh peaches sold at retail locations nationwide between September 16 and October 29 of this year. The recall does not affect packages or PLU stickers marked “Washington” or “Organic.” There have been no reported illnesses or consumer complaints related to these products so far.
Consumers are advised not to eat the recalled product. "Consumers should not consume and discard the product. The product(s) involved are no longer available for sale and most are past its shelf life and should already be out of distribution, but if consumers have any product they question, do not consume it, but rather discard it." Those concerned about their health should consult their physician.
For more information about the recall or questions regarding affected products, consumers can contact Moonlight Companies’ recall hotline at (855) 215-5017 during business hours Monday through Friday.
