U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported the arrest of several individuals described as "worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens" across the United States, according to an announcement made yesterday. The arrests come as a government shutdown continues into its 35th day.
Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, “35 days into the Democrats’ government shutdown, ICE law enforcement continues to arrest the worst of the worst. Yesterday, ICE arrested pedophiles, murderers, and arsonists.” She added, “Under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem, nothing will slow ICE down from removing the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from our communities.”
The individuals arrested include Pedro Joaquin Ovando-Guido from Honduras, convicted for sex abuse of a minor in Baltimore County, Maryland; Candido De Jesus-Hernandez from Dominican Republic, convicted for manslaughter in New York City; Andrew Brown from Jamaica with convictions for habitual felon status, concealment or failure to report death, and cocaine smuggling in Guilford County, North Carolina; Freddy German Padilla-Riera from Venezuela, convicted for arson in Bexar County, Texas; and Jebah Doe from Liberia with convictions for first degree aggravated robbery in Brooklyn Park and additional firearm-related offenses in Edina, Minnesota.
