Despite an ongoing government shutdown, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has reported the arrest of several individuals described as criminal illegal aliens with convictions for serious offenses. ICE stated that these arrests took place across various states and involved people convicted of crimes such as sexual abuse, kidnapping, drug trafficking, and carjacking.
“ICE is on a mission to remove criminal illegal aliens from terrorizing American communities and fulfilling President Trump’s promise to make America safe again,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Yesterday, ICE arrested pedophiles, kidnappers, and drug traffickers from American neighborhoods. Our law enforcement officers will let nothing stop them from removing the worst of the worst including the Democrats’ longest government shutdown in American history or even an 8,000% increase in death threats against them."
Among those arrested were Juan Pablo Martinez-Herrera from Mexico, convicted for lewd acts with a child under 14 years with force in Los Angeles; Jose Luis Tomalo-Viracucha from Ecuador, convicted for attempted assault and aggravated sexual abuse in Monticello, New York; Adrian Perez-Vallejo from Mexico, convicted for aggravated kidnapping in Smith County, Texas; Marcelin Charles Gbey Gouley from the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire with multiple felony convictions related to drugs in Florida, Maryland, and Virginia; and Javier Sanchez from Mexico, convicted of carjacking in Los Angeles.
The agency emphasized that its operations would continue regardless of challenges posed by the current government shutdown or increased threats faced by its personnel.
