Africa Imports has announced a voluntary recall of its Organic Moringa Leaf Powder sold in 1-kilogram boxes due to possible contamination with Salmonella. The product was distributed nationwide through the company’s website, africaimports.com. The recall affects all Organic Moringa Leaf Powder purchased after June 5, 2025.
Salmonella infection can be particularly dangerous for young children, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In some cases, more serious conditions such as arterial infections, endocarditis, or arthritis can develop.
According to Africa Imports: “As of today (November 6, 2025), we have not been informed of any illness from the Moringa powder sold in this lot.”
The company stated: “We were informed that some of the Moringa powder in this lot has tested positive for Salmonella. Out of an abundance of caution, we have implemented a recall of all of the moringa product sold in this batch.”
Customers are advised to stop using the recalled product immediately and dispose of it. Africa Imports requests confirmation of disposal by replying to their recall notification email or by contacting the company directly. Those who may have further distributed the product are asked to notify their customers about the recall.
The recall is being carried out in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
