A foreign cyber attack has targeted the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), according to a statement released by House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington. The incident involved a "complex foreign actor" who executed a cyber intrusion on the CBO.
Chairman Arrington stated, "A complex foreign actor perpetrated a cyber attack on the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). The House Budget Committee is working closely with CBO, the House Chief Information Officer, and others to monitor the situation, ensure it’s contained, and mitigate any adverse effects of the intrusion."
The committee is collaborating with relevant officials to address the breach and limit its impact.
