Prime Capital Ventures CEO pleads guilty in multimillion dollar wire fraud case

Kris Roglieri, the chief executive officer of Prime Capital Ventures, LLC, pleaded guilty to wire fraud conspiracy in federal court in Albany, New York. According to federal prosecutors, Roglieri admitted that between mid-2022 and January 2024 he and others engaged in a scheme to defraud clients out of tens of millions of dollars through his commercial lending business.

Authorities said Roglieri falsely promoted Prime Capital as being able to provide large commercial loans through third-party funding. Clients were told their payments would either secure these loans or be refunded if the loans did not materialize. Instead, funds collected from clients were used to pay off earlier clients and for personal luxury purchases by Roglieri, including private jet travel and jewelry.

Acting United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III stated: “Kris Roglieri brazenly flaunted the proceeds of his scheme—including luxury vehicles, rare watches, and private jet travel—all while feeding his victims bigger and bigger lies to fuel his greed to even greater heights. But the truth stopped him like a brick wall. All those trappings of wealth will be forfeited, and he will be ordered to make his victims whole. I applaud the FBI and the members of my office on this case for unraveling this devastating scheme and bringing its perpetrators to justice.”

FBI Special Agent in Charge Craig L. Tremaroli commented: “Mr. Roglieri built his lavish lifestyle on the backs of hardworking Americans looking to fund their businesses. Today’s plea ensures he will pay the price for that disturbing deception and greed. The depth of his deceit was staggering, but the FBI was deeply committed to thoroughly investigating this case and bringing justice to the victims who continue to rebuild their lives. While Mr. Roglieri remains in prison, the FBI will continue to investigate and bring to justice those who commit fraud schemes to mislead innocent investors.”

Two other individuals involved in the scheme have also pleaded guilty: Kimberly Owen (also known as Kimberly “Kimmy” Humphrey) and her brother Christopher Snyder from Virginia Beach admitted conspiring with Roglieri in defrauding Prime Capital clients. Sentencing dates are set for Owen on January 15, 2026, and Snyder on January 16, 2025.

Roglieri has been held since his arrest on May 31, 2024.

At sentencing scheduled for March 11, 2026 before U.S. District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino, Roglieri faces up to twenty years in prison along with a fine up to $250,000 and up to three years supervised release. He is required under a plea agreement with prosecutors to pay restitution as well as forfeit more than $55 million worth of assets acquired during the fraud—including luxury vehicles, several high-end watches such as Rolexes and Richard Mille models—and a mansion located in Virginia Beach.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albany Field Office; Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua R. Rosenthal is prosecuting the case.
