A federal jury in Tampa has convicted Shane Valmont, 45, of distributing more than 50 grams of methamphetamine. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe. Valmont now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, with the possibility of life imprisonment. Sentencing is set for December 18, 2025.
Evidence presented during the trial showed that on December 27, 2022, Valmont sold about 112 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant. The transaction took place as part of an investigation conducted by the Clearwater Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The case was investigated by both agencies and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Maria Guzman and Muriel Moore.
