Warwick man receives 15-year sentence for online enticement and obscenity involving minor

A Warwick resident, Jeffrey Locke Slinn, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges of attempted enticement of a minor and transfer of obscene material to a minor. The sentencing took place in federal court in Rhode Island.

According to information presented in court, Slinn, age 43, used several online accounts in July 2023 to communicate with underage girls. Among his victims was an 11-year-old girl from New Jersey. During these interactions, he attempted to persuade the minor to engage in sexual activity and exchanged sexually explicit images and videos with her.

Slinn was arrested on October 26, 2023, following a federal criminal complaint outlining the charges against him. He entered his guilty plea on October 30, 2023.

U.S. District Court Judge Melissa R. DuBose ordered that Slinn’s prison term be followed by an additional 15 years of supervised release.

Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom announced the sentence.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Julie M. White. The investigation involved collaboration between the FBI, the Ocean Township Police Department in New Jersey, and the Warwick Police Department in Rhode Island.
