This week, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is scheduled to hold several events at the United States Capitol. On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, a nominations hearing will take place at 10:00am in room SD-419. The committee will consider Tammy Bruce for the position of deputy representative to the United Nations and Daryl Nirenberg as ambassador to Romania. Additional nominees may be added.
A business meeting is set for Thursday, November 20, at 9:30am in the same location. During this session, the committee will review nominees including Brent Christensen for ambassador to Bangladesh, Benjamin Leon for ambassador to Spain, and Leo Bozell for ambassador to South Africa. More nominees may also be added to the agenda.
Also on Thursday at 9:30am, a full committee hearing will address the implementation of the Taiwan Enhanced Resilience Act and explore future opportunities for cooperation between the United States and Taiwan. Witnesses scheduled to testify include Lauren Dickey, former Taiwan advisor to the Department of War; Rush Doshi, director of the China Strategic Initiative at the Council on Foreign Relations; and Bonnie Glaser, director of the Indo-Pacific program at the German Marshall Fund.
