Mobile man receives 10-year sentence for armed robbery of convenience store

A Mobile man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for robbing a convenience store. Andre` Lionel Nettles, 40, was sentenced on October 29, 2025, after being convicted of robbing a Circle K store in the Mobile area on March 28, 2024.

Court documents state that Nettles entered the store wearing a black jacket and face mask, pointed a gun at the clerk, and stole cigarettes. Surveillance footage captured the incident. During the robbery, Nettles broke a plexiglass case and left behind blood and fingerprints. Forensic analysis confirmed his identity through matching fingerprints and DNA.

Following his release from the Bureau of Prisons after serving his 120-month sentence, Nettles will be under supervised release for three years. He is also required to pay restitution and fines.

U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama announced the sentencing. The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms along with the Mobile Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys George May and Tandice H. Blackwood prosecuted the case.
