Sean P. Costello U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama
An Atlanta man has been convicted by a federal jury for his involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy, as well as firearm offenses. Kenyatta Lee Frazier, 44, was found guilty of manufacturing and distributing tens of thousands of pressed methamphetamine pills across Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi from September 2022 to August 2024.
During the trial, evidence included photos and videos taken by Frazier on his cell phone showing the production of the pills using an illegal pill press machine. He marketed these pills as “ecstasy” to customers in several states.
Frazier was arrested in April 2023 along with a coconspirator during a traffic stop in Mobile after delivering 2,000 pressed methamphetamine pills to a customer in Mississippi. Law enforcement used a court-authorized CCTV device installed in the truck where Frazier was a passenger. The device recorded conversations about drug deals and profits related to the distribution of the so-called “ecstasy” pills. A search of the vehicle led agents to discover a loaded .380 caliber pistol hidden near where Frazier had been sitting; this firearm had previously been reported stolen from Pinellas County, Florida.
The jury also reviewed text messages showing that Frazier tried to sell the same pistol and heard a jail call where he admitted hiding it so police would not find it. At the time he possessed the weapon, Frazier had already been convicted of at least eight felonies including robbery, aggravated assault, firearms offenses, thefts, and drug crimes.
Frazier faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years to life in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for February 2026 before Chief U.S. District Judge Jeffrey U. Beaverstock.
U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello for the Southern District of Alabama announced the conviction.
