Carlos Mendoza-Padilla, also known as Marvin Antino and Carlos Ivan Mendoza, was sentenced to time served for unlawful reentry into the United States. The sentencing took place in Muskogee, Oklahoma, following an investigation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division and the Carter County Sheriff's Office.
Mendoza-Padilla, a Honduran national, pleaded guilty on June 5, 2025. Investigators reported that he was found in Carter County on May 4, 2025, without permission from the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission after previous removals on February 19 and November 18 of 2016.
The case is part of Operation Take Back America. According to the press release: "Operation Take Back America is a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime. Operation Take Back America streamlines efforts and resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN)."
Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White presided over the hearing in federal court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Mendoza-Padilla will remain in custody with U.S. Marshals until he is transported to a Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his sentence without parole.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin Cornell represented the government at sentencing.
