A federal grand jury in New Haven has indicted Pamela Aguilar, 65, of Shelton, on five counts related to an alleged embezzlement scheme involving approximately $700,000. The announcement was made by David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and P.J. O’Brien, Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
According to the indictment, Aguilar served as Chief Financial Officer at a Connecticut software company referred to as “Company A.” Between 2018 and 2025, she allegedly transferred funds from Company A’s accounts to her personal bank accounts through ACH and wire transfers. She is also accused of writing checks and making cash withdrawals from Company A’s account for personal use and making payments via PayPal and credit cards for her own benefit.
The indictment further alleges that Aguilar attempted to conceal her actions by providing false weekly cash reports and monthly financial statements to Company A’s Chief Executive Officer.
The grand jury returned the indictment on October 15, 2025. Aguilar appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Maria E. Garcia in New Haven on October 22, pleaded not guilty to all charges, and was released on a $50,000 bond.
U.S. Attorney Sullivan stated: "An indictment is not evidence of guilt. Charges are only allegations, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt."
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is conducting the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ray Miller is prosecuting the case.
