A New Orleans man has been indicted for possession of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors. Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson announced that Jeffrey Boone, 50, was charged on October 9, 2025, under Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252(a)(4)(B) and (a)(2). If convicted, Boone faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years and a maximum of twenty years in prison, a fine up to $250,000, supervised release from five years to life, and a $100 special assessment fee.
Court records state that Boone possessed images and videos depicting pre-pubescent child pornography until July 8, 2025. Law enforcement officials searched his home on that date. Following the search by state and federal agents, Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Boone. He was later transferred from state to federal custody due to this indictment. Boone had previously been convicted in federal court in 2008 for possessing similar materials and served a sentence of 108 months.
Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson stated: "The indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt."
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse through collaboration between federal, state, and local agencies. Simpson commended the efforts of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations division as well as the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian M. Klebba is prosecuting the case as Project Safe Childhood Coordinator and Chief of the Financial Crimes Unit.
