Mangalm LLC, based in Newark, California, has announced a recall of its Tops Mixed Fruit Jam and Tops Strawberry Jam products. The company stated that the jams contain carmoisine, an unapproved color additive that could pose a health risk to consumers.
The affected products include Tops Mixed Fruit Jam (475g) and Tops Strawberry Jam (475g), both from batch #4F1101 with a best before date of 10/06/2026. These items were distributed in Utah, Portland, Washington, and California.
According to Mangalm LLC, "There were no illnesses that have been CONFIRMED to date."
The recall follows an inspection by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration at the manufacturer’s facility. The company has stopped distributing the recalled products and instructed retailers to remove them from shelves immediately.
Consumers who have purchased these jams are advised not to consume them. They should discard the product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Those feeling unwell after consuming the product are encouraged to seek medical attention and mention the jam.
