Laurel County man sentenced to over 13 years for distributing child pornography

A London, Kentucky man and former paramedic, Bradley Callahan, 38, has been sentenced to 162 months in prison for distributing child pornography. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Claria Horn Boom.

According to court documents, Callahan distributed child pornography in September 2023 by posting links to explicit videos on a dark web marketplace. The plea agreement detailed that several of the posted links contained videos depicting child sexual abuse.

Federal law requires Callahan to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for release. After completing his prison term, he will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for ten years.

Paul McCaffrey, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, and Olivia Olson, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Louisville Field Office, announced the sentencing. The FBI led the investigation into Callahan’s activities. Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Blankenship prosecuted the case.

The prosecution was part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse through coordination among federal, state, and local agencies.
