Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell issued a statement following the meeting: "On October 31, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth met with Indonesian Minister for Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin to reaffirm the strength of the U.S.-Indonesia defense relationship. The leaders discussed deepening defense cooperation, including through continued military modernization, professional development, and exercise expansion. Secretary Hegseth also thanked Indonesia for its offer to contribute to the International Security Force to secure the peace in Gaza."
