A Norwood, Ohio man has been sentenced to more than 16 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. Marcus Goodwin, 37, received a 200-month sentence from Chief U.S. District Judge David Bunning after pleading guilty to conspiring to distribute at least 50 grams of methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Goodwin worked with others to distribute over a kilogram of crystal methamphetamine between March 2024 and February 2025 in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Law enforcement used a confidential informant to conduct four controlled purchases from Goodwin totaling more than one kilogram of the drug. During his arrest, officers found three handguns in a hotel room where he was staying, as well as another handgun and nearly 1.2 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine at his residence. Three additional handguns were seized from another location connected to his drug activities.
Goodwin had previously served a 14-year sentence following convictions for drug trafficking and voluntary manslaughter with specification in Hamilton County, Ohio.
Federal law requires that Goodwin serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for release. After completing his prison term, he will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for ten years.

Greene, Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Detroit Field Division; and Chief Jeff Mallery of the Florence Police Department announced the sentencing.
The case was investigated by the FBI, DEA, and Florence Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tony Bracke prosecuted the case.
