A man from Erie, Pennsylvania has pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge related to methamphetamine distribution, according to First Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
Shawn Geer, 49, entered his plea before United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines. The court was informed that on July 2, 2023, Geer possessed with the intent to distribute at least 50 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine in the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Sentencing is set for March 24, 2026. Geer faces a minimum of five years and up to 40 years in prison and could be fined up to $5 million. The actual sentence will depend on the seriousness of the offense and Geer's prior criminal history under federal guidelines.
Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Sheehan-Balchon is handling the prosecution for the government. The case resulted from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Pennsylvania State Police.
