A Fort Dodge man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. Loren Craig, 52, pleaded guilty on July 14, 2025, to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.
According to information presented at the plea and sentencing hearings, Craig admitted that between August and September 2023, he and others agreed to distribute more than 14 pounds of methamphetamine in the Fort Dodge area. Law enforcement identified Craig as a distributor during their investigation. On September 29, 2023, officers executed a search warrant at his residence where they found methamphetamine, two firearms, and items used for drug distribution.
Craig was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand in Sioux City. He received a sentence of 180 months’ imprisonment and must also serve five years of supervised release following his prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.
